Bruna Rebecca, la bellezza

 Un Angelo é salito al cielo, e questo angelo mi ricorda molto la Rosa Bruna Rebecca.

Questo angelo quando lo conobbi, aveva dei capelli , bianchissimi che facevano da pendant a degli occhi di un azurro stupendo.

Ogni volta

che la vedevo, rimanevo incantato da questa bellezza contadina, riservata. I suoi occhi erano sempre sorridenti come il personaggio omonimo di  Tess d’Ubervilles, sicuramente nascondevano un nobile lignaggio, di cui si erano perse le tracce nella decadenza economica , e nella nuova nobiltà rustica.

Come Tess, dovette subire la violenza del patriarcato della sua regione, ma sempre  affrontata con ingenua positivitá. 

La rosa che mi ricorda questo Angelo , é forse una delle piú belle rose gallica.

É stata  trovata dal vivaio la Campanella,  che la presentarono a François Joyaux, che si invaghì di questa rosa che non seppe identificare, e che mi mise nel registro delle

Rose gallica . 

Joyaux, ilpiú grande esperto di rose galliche, e l’autore di roses anciennes pubblicato da Ulmer ( ottimo regalo di natale )  ma anche di ‘Rosa Gallica : il libro piú importante su queste Rose

La Bruna é tra le preferite dell’ ex titolare del’ ex vivaio la Campanella ,  ora centro della conoscenza delle rose antiche .

Una rosa dal profumo molto forte .

La pianta é sul eretto sui 6o cm in poi, dai fiori rosso ciliegia a quarti, con un occhio centrale , e dei petali retroflessi suo colore bianco / argento. Stupenda

An Angel has risen to the heavens. This very angel reminds me a lot Bruna Rebecca rose.
when I met him this gracious angel I was enchanted by its very white hair which was a perfect frame for vivid blue eyes.


Whenever I had the chance to meet her, I was enchanted by this  reserved  and silent beauty with smiling eyes that reminded me of the character of  Tess d'Ubervilles, which was a peasant  hidding a noble lineage, whose memories have been lost in the centuries  by economical decadence, which had led to a new state of rustic nobility, totally oblivious of her glorious past.


Like Tess, she had to suffer the violence of the patriarchate, which is still very strong in her region, but always with naive positive attitude.






The rose that reminds me of this Angel, is perhaps one of the most beeautiful Gallica roses . It was found by the Campanella nursery, and was presented to François Joyaux, the greatest expert on Gallica roses. 

He is the author of ’roses anciennes’published by Ulmer ( excellent Christmas present) and Rosa Gallica: the most important book on these roses, he could not recognise her, but was mesmerised by her sheer beauty .

Bruna is one of the favorites of the former owner of the former nursery la Campanella, now the center of knowledge of ancient roses.

A rose with a very strong scent.

The plant is erect on the 6o cm onwards, with quartered cherry red flowers, with a central eye, and retroflexed petals its white / silver colour Wonderful
